Fan Code of Conduct

We at Tilted Thunder Roller Derby (TTRD) aim to be a welcoming space for skaters and fans of all backgrounds. Our core values include respect, fairness, equity, civility, honesty, responsibility, and excellence in athletic participation. We hold all participants of TTRD events–including our skaters, coaches, officials, volunteers, opponents, and event patrons–to this standard, especially in the face of high-level, competitive gameplay.

All event participants are expected to engage in good sporting behavior. Anyone violating this code of conduct, including fans who have paid for entry, may be asked to leave at Tilted Thunder’s discretion.

Bullying, harassment, hate speech, or otherwise unsporting behavior will not be tolerated at TTRD’s events. We define bullying as persistent, malicious, unwelcome, severe, or pervasive

mistreatment that harms, intimidates, offends, degrades or humiliates an individual, whether verbal, physical or otherwise.

Skaters, officials, and fans will treat each other with respect and acceptance–regardless of their ability, race, religion, national origin, immigration status, age, gender, or sexual orientation. Hate speech will not be tolerated

Tilted Thunder will always strive for a more welcoming environment in the face of systemic oppression. While we acknowledge that such systems are pervasive and impactful, even in the world of amateur sports, we will do our part to keep TTRD spaces safe and equitable for all participants.

While not an exhaustive list, here are other examples of behaviors we consider to be unacceptable at our events:

  • Staring, glaring, or other nonverbal demonstrations of hostility
  • Angry outbursts, excessive profanity, or name-calling
  • Taunting, particularly towards opponents or officials
  • Unwelcome or nonconsensual touching
  • Verbal abuse, such as the use of derogatory remarks or insults
  • Conduct that a reasonable person would find hostile or offensive

Thank you for keeping Tilted Thunder events safe, equitable, and fun for all. Please report any unwelcome conduct to a TTRD representative.
